This extraordinary brass Greek Chanukah lamp radiates warmth with its golden sheen! The back plate consists of scrolled branches and 8 flowers. A triangular cartouche at the center reads,” For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is a light” (Proverbs 6:23) in Hebrew.

Historically, this mesmerizing menorah is believed to have originated from the north east port city of Salonika, Greece where Jews are known to have settled already in 140 BCE.

This item comes with a certificate of authenticity of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Enclosed is a small description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
